I can't believe it is already one year since we got married. This year is an interesting year due to the pandemic. We had to cancel all our trips, sadly. This includes our Easter trip to New Zealand (camper van road trip), wedding celebration with family in Breckenridge, Colorado, and Spain trip during the National Holiday.
On the other hand, we spent the whole year in Hong Kong, and enjoyed what Hong Kong has to offer. We cook, bake, workout, hike, explore, and meet up with friends whenever possible. In a way, this brought us all closer together.
John and I spend more time together, and being supportive to each other. There were times when we wanted to strangle each other (duh!), but in general, we laughed most of the times with silly jokes and little things. Sometimes small things and being silly are the best antidote to all negativities surrounding us. Being positive is one of the key things during this hard time.
Today we went to Ma....Seed of Life to celebrate our first year wedding anniversary. Ma Seed of Life is a vegan restaurant that serves both raw and cooked plant based food. Chef Tina Barrat was the original chef at Maya Mediterranean on Star Street in the old days which we frequented. Unfortunately the restaurant closed out due to lease issue. In the Hong Kong vegan society, Chef Tina was well known for her innovative yet flavorful and nutritious beautiful plant based dishes. Last year, Helena Hoi-Lem found her and arranged a cooking class bridal shower for me! It was a fantastic bridal shower filled with laughter and delicious food! When I heard that she opened up Ma...Seed of Life a couple months ago, I was so happy for her and couldn't wait to try it.
We ordered an appetizer, 3 types of vegan cheese platter, 2 mains (1 raw + 1 cooked) and 1 dessert. The food was amazing, especially the vegan cheese platter, the grilled king oyster scallops and spirulina, frankincense cheesecake . Whatever you do, save room for the cheese platter and desserts. They were really delicious. We were so stuffed at the end.
Ma offers set lunch and afternoon tea at a reasonable price on weekdays. We would definitely go back again and try other dishes.
If you had not been there, try it out, and support them during COVID-19! You can also follow them on Facebook.

Appetizer: Faux-gras liver pate, chutney, keto bread

3 cheese platter: these are vegan and fermented cheese made in house - shamembert (hint of truffle flavor), North Pole Star (Gorgonzola), Brie: Pink Peppercorn. You can also buy takeaway in nice packages.

Cooked Main Dish: Grilled King Oyster Scallops - the cauliflower polenta with the red pepper puree and grilled king oyster scallops and red cabbage were sooooooo crazily good!
